A new iOS build 1.0.2 (4) has been uploaded. Minor image colour glitch fixed.
-
Approved! external beta test should now be possible!

I jumped the gun a bit. Builds that go into beta have to be reviewed first by Apple. This is in addition to being reviewed for release. I've submitted our iOS version for beta review. Not sure how long this takes. a few days maybe. In the meantim…

Hi Everyone, Apple Testflight Beta of The Pawn We've started the ball rolling on the iOS testing programme with testflight. The way it works is you are sent testflight invites into the beta programme from Apple. If you PM me your email address (or…

@robriz, sure thing! Good timing, because we're planning to finish the development of the iOS version next. We'll definitely be needing beta testers! There are a few technical problems with the build, and we have to deal with the Apple submission …

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try some of these ideas out for the next release (not planned yet), but they will go on the list.

Hi, I tried to contact Steve Meretzky, but he didn't reply. I thought he might be the best person who might have known about this project from the Infocom side. I'll try another idea. Thanks for reminding me. I do want to get this sorted.

Thanks. i agree it's still a bit too big on Android. The problem with Android is that peoples fingers are different sizes. I might tweak it to be a bit smaller and scale with font.
-
Fixed the input box size and pictures on load. Version 1.0.2.2 has now been released to itch for Windows. Will be updating the other platforms shorly... thanks for all your feedback. Always welcome.
-
Thanks for the feedback. I probably let the input text scale too large on desktop, i'll tweak it. I'll checkout that load picture problem, i thought it was fixed...
-
Thanks. I've tested it today and it's looking good. We might make an official release tomorrow, unless some horrible bug turns up.

I think the CPC versions were converted from the C64 ones. In theory the CPC could have had better pictures, but there weren't enough of them around to be worth redrawing the pictures.
-
I think you can get them. Covering the band just stops him laughing but if you know what you're doing you can get the bowl and get on with it.
-
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try out the picture scaling idea to see how it looks in practice.

@Dsinclair & @The_Librarian, I wondered this too. It would also be nice for the desktop editions. I'm interested in suggestions here for the best way. Off the top of my head: * Instead of the picture being fixed size, suppose it auto-scaled i…

Nice pictures! The C64 was so popular that it warranted having all the artwork redrawn especially for it. I think? some of the other versions used the C64 pictures as "cameos". Where you could get a "sample" version of the pictu…

Hi guys, Today I've been working on this. Firstly, you're right, there were more pictures in the "collection" versions. I've made our build work with the collection graphics, except i haven't got the animation to work yet. I think this i…

Wow. I didn't know about these extra pictures nor the animations. I don't even know if the source material to these exist anymore. That might be something worth tracking down.

The VGA resolution of 640x480 was considered really high. Before VGA there was EGA and CGA.

This is an example of the multiple back-end architecture. There's a "magnetic" back end that runs Scrolls, but there can be others. I made a choice back end to demonstate a totally different way of making games.

Sorry, been delayed on this a bit. I need to get back to it. Stefan has managed to get a static iOS build working. We need to build the latest code and start making our application to Apple. Hopefully we will get something into testflite. Do you wa…

what do you mean by "upgrade the pictures"? Because, it turns out Stefan here has made a breakthrough with picture technology. We've found a way to enhance the pictures. I plan to blog about this, but here's a quick example, original pic…

I'm planning to spin up an update release, there are a few other fixes and some new features. Hopefully release something next week.

Should work well on a tablet. A bit more space for the drag and drop, also you might want to make the font a bit bigger.
-
That could be part of the "additional" content in The Guild of Thieves. :-)

Hi. This is now fixed. The sidebar has been changed to pass objectID back to the game rather than the strings on display (how it works in current release). This means that we can change the display string to whatever we like. I've changed it to &q…

The multiple command bit, is also the reason why (currently) you can delete past previous stuff. It's because it trys to locate a set of commands. For example, the results of a "paste" operation. voice rec: Something i want to look into a…

I can't just call you "magician". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8bqQ-C1PSE I guess it could be "The Magician". But then there must only be one.

Hi. We moved The Pawn out of beta now for Android. BUT there will be a beta of The Guild coming through sometime....

I've not seen anything that draws the little "drop-down" scrolls the games used to have on actual machines. Perhaps a whole machine emulator will do it. The games had animated scrolls that "unrolled" and Corruption had little &q…
