I think the CPC versions were converted from the C64 ones. In theory the CPC could have had better pictures, but there weren't enough of them around to be worth redrawing the pictures.
I wanted to read some old floppy formats recently, as part of the data recovery. I rummaged around and managed to find an old 5.25" floppy drive - and it worked!
Originally, the plan was to read the disks using a Linux box, but unfortunately, i could not get it to work. I did wonder if modern Linux distros have removed old drivers such as floppy to save space. Anyhow, shockingly, the box that did work was Windows XP! Anything newer wouldn't touch it, but XP rocked.
No wonder, Microsoft discontinued XP, it was just too good!
BTW, I after the iOS release of The Pawn, i'm hoping to get back to seriously producing The Guild. I want to make some new UI features (eg the word suggestion bar)
and we're planning to get the animation working for it!

Yay! More testing!
DOS 3.3? Right there at the top
Yes, I could have booted from that, then read the disks. But then how to transfer the data?
Not so useful then.
